Short-term simply means time-efficient, or accelerated. I place a lot of value in developing rapport, and I am not at all anxious to get rid of my clients. I do however ultimately want to work myself out of a job — I want for my clients to one day not need a therapist in their lives. Depending on your goals, early life experiences, and other factors, therapy can be as short as a few months and it can also take years — it depends on a number of factors. I try to be time-efficient, and what makes the therapy time-efficient is the experiential component.

No. I only see clients that are self-paying. My fee is currently $175 an hour (50 minutes, more precisely). I can provide a super-bill if you request one, but then I will also need to assign you a diagnosis (and my super-bills are not always approved by insurance companies).

Fridays and Saturdays.

I work with adult individuals who want individual psychotherapy, couples wanting couples and marriage counseling, families, parents wanting help with parenting, and I also work with youth — children and teenagers.

A wide range — the garden varieties of relationship problems/social anxiety, other
anxiety and panic reactions, depression, self-esteem issues, behavioral issues (addiction issues and substance use — when you have managed to abstain from the substance for a few weeks), and problems with self-sabotage and self-defeating patterns.

I am eclectic in my approach but my primary therapeutic foundation is Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP).

Yes. There is substantial research that presents outcome data showing efficacy for a wide range of psychiatric disturbances.

There is no way for me to know or for us to be sure, but I offer a free 30-minute consultation to help us better answer that question, and the initial therapy session is usually longer in length to also help us answer that question. I am not the best therapist for everyone, and the free consultation and the often extended initial session often help us determine if we are a good fit.

I am vaccinated. If you have been vaccinated, we can meet in person without masks. If you have been vaccinated but feel ill, you can still come in for a face-to-face meeting but we will be masking up. If you have not been vaccinated, we can work virtually via Zoom Health, a HIPAA compliant and se-cure virtual platform. If you have ben vaccinated but prefer to work virtually, that is OK too.
Yes. You will need an above average internet connection, a computer (a phone is not enough), you will need to instal Zoom on your computer, the ability to position yourself so I can see at least all of your face and upper body, and you will need to have privacy. I will also need to know your exact location every time we have a virtual session.
Only if you ask me to do so, and also if you request a super-bill.
